As a multiple-award winning journalist and researcher, Tonyaa often speaks on issues ranging from Cuba and the African diaspora, to civil rights, poverty and emerging political and social demographics. Tonyaa has been the keynote speaker at events such as the annual Martin Luther King Jr. luncheon at the University of North Florida to the annual Freedom of Information Congress at the University of Memphis. She has also spoke and presented at events ranging from equal opportunity luncheons to a student dinner at Blue Hill College in Guayaquil, Ecuador and an African-American History Month reception at UNF. Tonyaa was also a featured storyteller as part of USA Today's Storytellers Project.
